He has also taught theatre and literature courses at Washington University in St. Louis, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Mountain View College, Tarrant County College-Northeast, St. Louis Community College-Meramec, and SUNY-Oneonta, and had articles published in The New England Theatre Journal , Theatre Journal, Theatre Survey, and American Theatre. Robert is a produced playwright, whose Dracula: The Case of the Silver Scream and Simply Simone: The Music of Nina Simone (both co-written with David Grapes), are licensed by Summerwind Productions and have received a number of professional and amateur productions throughout the United States and Canada. Other plays include: Leannán Sídhe, Redemption Play, Frida's Apron, A Wrinkle in Time, The Thirty-Minute Lysistrata, and Alice in Wonderland.
Robert holds a PhD in Comparative and Dramatic Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a BA in English (Honors) and a BA in Theatre from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, and an MA in Drama from Washington University.
Robert is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. He has been a member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas and Actors' Equity Association.
